Abdul Rahman Nekzai is the founder of Nekzai Law. He received his Juris Doctor (cum laude) from the University of Ottawa, graduating in the top 5% of his class and placing on the Dean’s Honour List all three years. Abdul Rahman summered and articled with a prominent, full-service Bay Street business law firm, before choosing to launch his own practice.

During law school, Abdul Rahman spent two years serving as a Teaching Assistant for first year Contracts students. He completed a real estate internship and focused his studies on commercial/business law, estate planning and real estate, while also participating in the Advocacy stream, an intense focus on trial advocacy and civil procedure. During his Articles, Abdul Rahman completed both a business and litigation rotation, appearing before the Small Claims Court and the Ontario Court of Justice. His advocacy training has strengthened his approach to drafting/reviewing contracts and facilitating transactions, allowing him to anticipate (and avoid) potential litigation issues.

Prior to commencing his legal studies, Abdul Rahman received a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Global Political Studies from York University, and spent over six years as an award-winning licensed agent for a national property and casualty insurance company, providing him with a unique insight into many of the liability risks associated with real estate.
